Sterling A. Brown foi um dos poetas e autores da Harlem Renaissance, ao lado de Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, Zora Neale Hurston, Claude McKay e W. E. B. Du Bois, entre muitos outros. Abaixo, um exemplo de maestria em prosódia e melopeia.
